254SMO austenitic stainless steel is a solid solution strengthening material with excellent high temperature strength and easy machine adding at room temperature. Ideal for long-term applications at 649°C and higher temperatures, operating time much longer than stainless steel and nickel alloys. The 254SMO Austenitic stainless steel material is a complete austenitic nickel-based alloy with 22% chromium. The nickel it contains also helps protect the alloy from the corrosion of halides such as chloride and fluoride when subjected to extreme heat. The excellent weldability characteristics are associated with the slow precipitation characteristic of the primary strengthened gamma double bottom phase. Typical aerospace applications of 254SMO austenitic stainless steel materials include compressor and turbine discs, blades, spacers and bolts for jet engines, and liquid rocket parts involving low temperatures.
F44 is an austenitic stainless steel used in seawater and other aggressive chloride-bearing media. This grade has excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, high resistance to general corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, with a higher strength than conventional austenitic stainless steels, and good weldability.
We hold F44 round bar stock from 12.7mm to 189mm, although we can supply additional sizes on competitive lead times.
